Iowa Children's Museum - Take Flight! Coralville, Iowa
Rohrbach Associates worked with the Iowa Children’s Museum staff to create and design their newest and largest exhibit, “Take Flight”. This 4,000+ square foot space houses an exciting display of interactive learning stations for kids of all ages. A fun new steel stair was added to connect the ground floor to a new Air Control Tower where kids can view the entire exhibit space as they learn about being an air traffic controller. This aviation exhibit was constructed within an already existing shell, and was able to take advantage of the natural light which comes streaming through the building’s large curtain wall. Exciting splashes of color and the interesting play of the light add enjoyment and life to the skyward creation. Numerous graphics were prepared by the design team for the Iowa Children’s Museum to assist in acquiring grants for this project.
