Burge Hall Addition and Renovation The University of Iowa
Burge Hall, built in 1957, is the second largest residence hall on The University of Iowa campus. The five-story addition will provide accommodations for 104 student beds in a non-traditional configuration--two double occupancy student rooms sharing one bathroom. A key element to the addition and renovation consolidates the University Housing administrative offices. These new facilities will provide an easily identifiable and directly accessible location for improved student/parent access and improved way-finding.
Participation in the MidAmerican Energy Rebate Program was an important part of the project. This program grants rebates to participants whose buildings achieve levels above minimum energy requirements for items such as windows, lighting, insulation and mechanical and electrical system functions.
